What we do?
The Little Angels service is new to the Bolton Area established in August 2009. Bolton has two Volunteer Co-ordinators who are working with breastfeeding support groups, Midwives, Health Visitors and all other Health Professionals to develop the current peer support service in the area. Antenatal Workshop
The antenatal workshop is there to give expectant mums to opportunity to gather essential information about breastfeeding in a timely fashion.
The Workshop covers a variety of topics such as the benefits of breastfeeding, skin-to-skin, basics on how the breast produces milk, position and attachment, and the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about breastfeeding.
The workshop is run by the Bolton Volunteer Co-ordinators for Little Angels alongside peer supporters and has been very successful in helping manage Women’s expectations of Breastfeeding. A must visit for all expectant mums and their partners in the Bolton area!
The Workshop is held at the PCT feeding area in Bolton Central Library on the last Friday of every month

Breastfeeding Support Groups
Little Angels is currently working alongside each of the breastfeeding support groups to provide a voluntary peer supporter for each group. Each volunteer peer supporter is a member of a voluntary group called Bolton Breast Buddies which has been successfully established for some time. All peer supporters have successfully completed a breastfeeding training course so that they can help breastfeeding families. Peer supporters are there to offer support and provide appropriate help and factual information about breastfeeding to all who require it.
Bolton currently has eight Breastfeeding Support Groups covering the majority of the Bolton area, all of which run from local Children’s Centres. See below for details:
